Substitute or augment your spice cabinet with essential oils.  One drop of an essential oil is approximately equivalent to two teaspoons of dried herbs; however, start with less than more as dōTERRA oils are concentrated.

Italian Seasoning Blend

Mix 1 – 2 drops of Basil, Marjoram, Oregano, Rosemary and Thyme essential oils and 2 Tbsp garlic powder or 1 garlic clove chopped into a homemade spaghetti sauce (or boost a store-bought sauce).  Or make a blend of the oils in a small bottle – shake and add a drop or two to any sauces or dressings

Herbs De Provence Blend

Mix 1 – 2 drops of Marjoram, Rosemary, Thyme, Lavender and Fennel essential oils and 2 tsp dried orange zest (optional) and add to soups or sprinkle on chicken and roasted vegetables. Or make a blend of the oils in a small bottle – shake and add a drop or two to soups, chicken and roasted vegetables.

Herb Oil Dip

Combine 1 – 2 drops of Oregano, Rosemary, Basil essential oils with 1 tsp. each of crushed red pepper, ground black pepper, garlic powder, minced garlic and kosher salt on a deep plate or bowl.  Pour ¼ cup extra virgin oil (or more as needed) over the mixture.

Pumpkin Pie Mix

Combine 1 – 2 drops of Cinnamon Bark, Ginger and Clove Bud essential oils and 2 tsp. nutmeg.  Mix into pumpkin pie filling.

Cardamom Tea

Combine 1 – 2 drops of Cardamom, Clover Bud, Cinnamon and Ginger essential oils with three cups of water in a pot – heat, but do not boil, and simmer for ½ hour.  Strain and add 2 Tbsp. honey and milk.
